Tonight I am venturing to the Bonneville Salt Flats to watch my friends race this truck - a vegetable oil-powered work of art potentially able to reach speeds of 215 mph. The current world record for a vegetable oil-powered vehicle is 98mph.
On May 25, 2011 the Greenspeed team (an official student organization of Boise State University) had $300 and a truck. Today, with the help of countless sponsors and thousands of hours of work, their vehicle is up and running and worth over $110,000.
Whatever the results, I am VERY proud of them, and happy to have served on the project as photographer/videographer.
